However, I will also be applying for a Florida permit to carry. This requires fingerprinting. I was informed that I needed to go across the hall to the jail to do this. When I got there, I was told that I needed to make ANOTHER appointment. I understand there are rules. This was my fault. There just needs to be a much more effective way to let us know about all the appointment rules. I already had an appointment with the sheriff's office, had no idea that I would need to go the jail to get fingerprinted and needed another appointment. I was very underwhelmed by their service. There was not anybody waiting in that office except me and it was 10:00 on the morning, not exactly peak time. There should not have been any reason to avoid assisting me with the fingerprinting. Not a big shock, but another disappointment with Washington County.

The permit process was very easy. I appreciated that very much. I was however disappointed in the fact that a couple came I without an appointment on a Friday afternoon. There was absolutely no one there and they asked if they could still make an appointment and were told “no”. I was early for my appointment time and was back in my car before my actual time even started. It bothered me that they were not helped. I believe that the person could have easily helped them rather than making them come back. Unfortunately, it just really left me with a bad feeling about how these people were pushed away. Again the process for myself was quick and easy. I just believe that customer service is really important and I believe that our tax dollars could be put to better use.

I was very impressed with the experience as a whole with Washington Co. The website was informative and once I found where to schedule the appointment, things went very quickly and easily. The staffer that I interacted with was polite, acknowledged my presence immediately even though she was on the phone at the time, and was very efficient processing the application. The building was neat, clean and inviting. Even the maintenance staff, seeing my mild confusion on where I needed to go, were polite and helpful. Once the large item that was being moved by said staff was no longer blocking the sign, where I needed to be was well marked. I was very pleased with my experience and will be, in my roll as a CCW instructor in Wisconsin, be recommending to my clients and students seeking a MN license to utilize Washington County Sheriff's Office.

I came in to submit my application for a Permit to Purchase a firearm. After hunting down the location to submit the application, the wait was short and the clerks were helpful. The permit application was not intuitive, but the workers helped me out and I was done quickly and I left, not frustrated. However, I forgot to ask for a trigger lock, which I understand is available. There were no indications (signs, mention) that this was the case, so I will make a note for next time.

As a non-resident of MN, I found the process to apply for a permit to be very simple. It's best to fill out the application online in advance, print it off and bring it with you to your appointment along with a copy of your classroom documentation and Driver's License. I arrived early and was waiting on immediately. It literally took less then 5 minutes to drop off my application and supporting documents and ay my fee. Very satisfied and the admin was very friendly and helpful. She made sure I understood when to expect my permit to arrive.

Made an appointment to book myself/finger printed. Up until 10 years ago I unfortunately frequented jails as it was a consequence of the dumb lifestyle I lived. Never in my life EVER did I have such a positive experience as I did with the officer who printed me. She even had a name for the machine “Lucy” (I think) I believe her name was Rodriguez. She was funny had an excellent attitude and for the first time in my 54 years of life I didn’t feel judged. I was understandably nervous and anxious but she actually made it a pleasant dare I say fun experience. I’m still astounded by her awesomeness! Thank you Rodriguez and her pal LUCY 😂 LOL

This was an easy, positive experience for me. I went to Oak Park Police for fingerprints for my job, I found out I needed to go to WA CO. The employee was very friendly and so helpful. She emailed a link with directions on how to make the correct appointment.
The written instructions oon the confirmation email were also helpful right down to the explanation of "picking up the black phone" to explain I needed to say I had a fingerprint appt.
The officer who actually fingerprinted me was also friendly and helpful. When the printed information copied over the headings on the cards I received from my folder, he printed new ones from their stock. (Unfortunately my employer told me I may need to go through the process again because they can only accept company-issued cards, so I may need to repeat the process!)

Entered thru Sheriff Dept door to lobby. Picked up black phone as instructions on wall stated. Phone remained dead so hung up phone. Then intercom voice asked me what they could help with. I stated I had an appointment for permit to carry. Woman's voice told me to have a seat, which I did. 10 mins later another couple walked in....same scenario except woman told them they were in the wrong place, that debt is across the hall. I then crossed the hall to the west, 11 mins late for my appt due to poor direction and instructions.

From 10:00-10:30 not a single person entered to meet their appointment time. This is absolutely ridiculous that we have to make an appointment for a constitutional right.
Also this caused me to pay a higher fee while I waited weeks for my appointment. That is unacceptable and a huge problem that the officials we pay to handle our county’s business choose to slow down and violate our rights.

Scheduled an appointment using the online scheduler. The scheduler confirmed my appointment and sent me an email confirmation. I went to the sheriff's office at time of appointment. Rang the door bell for the office and was greeted by an officer. I told him I was there for fingerprinting and showed him my appointment. The officer asked for ID. I paid $15 and the officer completed my fingerprints within 5 minutes. That's it! Very smooth!

Went down to WCSO Sept 15, sign on door No walk in customers til further notice, have to make an appt, on line. Went home, made appt., first appt available Oct/22/20. Made it for that day. Was sort of snowy out so left early so as to not be late for my appt. Appt 9:30am, got there at 9:15am. No one there so walked in, young man approached, told him wat I was there for he said your appt is at 9:30 and I have one ahead of you, you will have to wait in the lobby. No chairs in the lobby. No one around. At 9:25am he motioned me back in, and said guess he isn"t coming. Took about 5 minutes in all. Now why couldn't he have done that right away. The person who was late could have waited for me to get done. Why make 1/2 hour appts for something that takes 5 minutes. Just a thought. Thank you for your time.

I needed to get finger prints. The process was clearing defined on their website and was very easy to schedule a time slot. Once I arrived I checked in with the Sheriff's Office. At the appointment time I meet with a very pleasant and professional Officer(Deputy?). She gathered the information and payment, completed the finger print scanning, printed the card and completed required signature and card stamped Sheriff's Office information. The whole process was under 10 min.

Picked up the phone to talk to some rude lady… told her that I was there for a finger print appointment… 35 mins later and I had to go back up to ask how long it would be just for them to ask what I was there for again… my appointment was at 2:00 I didn’t get in to get fingerprinted until 3:10 and didn’t end up getting out of there until 3:30.

I was dreading the thought of standing in a long line in order to submit my application for a gun permit. This process was effortlessly easy & swift! They have done a nice job of orchestrating the application process. It's easy to make an appt online. You get several appt reminders. When you arrive at the Sheriff's Dept, there is signage indicating where you go, which is literally right inside the door. Absolutely NO waiting! I was in & out of the office in under 10 minutes.

Not as smooth of transaction as I had hoped. Called 3 times and did not get the correct information regarding appointments. The appoint system did not work on line, it scheduled me for 3 appointments and cancelled 2 by email but never sent a phone text and the on screen message was "no appointment scheduled." It took 4 times longer for the people behind the counter to work though their system than if they would have just processed my paperwork, which took about 4 minutes. I had to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes for the appointment in the lobby and only one person came in and he was at the counter for about 6 minutes. Other than the long wait, miss information, no work around plan for appointments when there are no customers in the lobby, my card came quickly and a Sheriff Deputy did talk to me in-person about my experience which I thought was very professional on the part of Washington County Sheriff department.

The letter that I received requesting me to come in and be fingerprinted and photographed didn't tell me where to go, except to the building. I sat in what I thought may be the booking room, which actually was the place where people go to turn themselves in. Once I found the office that I was SUPPOSED to be in, the deputy and woman in the office and very friendly. The letter should include directions on exactly where to go for people that are not familiar with the jail system.

This took less than 5 minutes, could have taken even less if you were clear about a color copy of DL being necessary, and the receipt page shouldn't be filled out.
There is no reason I should have been required to wait over a month for an appointment! There should have been walk in first come first served the entire time, not at the last minute.

I had and appointment to apply/process a conceal/carry permit. The service was exceptional for that. Then I needed to get fingerprints for a Florida conceal/carry permit. I didn't have an appointment for that so I was prepared to call and make one for later. However, they were so nice and service oriented that Officer Dahms was able to take care of me. She was very professional and friendly.

I had an appointment scheduled for 1 p.m. I arrived at 12:45 and talked to a man on the phone that was hanging on the wall. The man asked what time my appointment was for and what it was for. I told him what it was and what time it was supposed to be at. He told me to go sit down. I waited in the jail lobby for 45 minutes and finally got up and asked about the progress of my appointment and the same man told me just to go sit down in a rude tone this time. 5 minutes later a lady came and got and I continued with my appointment. My appointment took not 5 minutes to complete and I left. The man didn’t even look into what I told him I was there for until I got up to ask a second time. Biggest waste of time. If you have anything scheduled with Washington County from the courts to jail to even just contacting the right person that you need to speak with, expect and least a few hours of your day to be wasted waiting for people to do there job correctly.

I stopped at the sheriff office to apply for a permit to purchase a handgun on Friday. I was informed that Fridays are reservation only days. I was the only person in the lobby and was told I needed to make a reservation and was given a paper with the reservation website. I was then informed that there were no additional reservations on Friday. I made a reservation for Monday and was surprised when the transaction took less than two minutes. I understand the specialist was following procedures sending me away on Friday, but honestly, a walk in line should be available every day. Making me come back today for a transaction that could have easily be done on Friday was disappointing. From the time I walked into the building on Friday until the time I left, there was no other customers in the building. I rate your people five stars and procedures two.

A young lady saw both of us at the window and asked if we had been help. We both said, “no”.
She asked for someone else to come to help the gentleman while she walked through my paperwork to make sure everything was completed, explained she needed to walk away to enter information but will return with my receipt.
She was friendly helpful and my appointment was less than 10 minutes. I really appreciated the timely service as I was driving to Wisconsin for a business meeting.

We showed up on a Friday without an appointment, but after a brief chat w/ a cute petite brunet, we discovered that we could make an appointment from our phones and "show up early" as long as no one in front of us. Not knowing that you needed to make an appointment to turn in your paperwork to renew our conceal carry permit. my wife and I just showed up at your office. we were meet by a young lady that was extremely rude to us about not having an appointment. So we made an appointment a week later and a older women that helped us then was nice and friendly, very helpful. For the 7 minutes that it took for us to turn in our papers, I would think the first young lady we meet a week earlier could have taken care of it.

Yes, this is their job, however, a little small talk of "congrats" or "we need more teachers" would have been nice. Again, they were very to the point and got what they needed to done. But I felt like I had done something wrong like a criminal, just because I'm required to get prints to get my license. A little smile goes a long way.

I called the office to ask if Washington County Sheriff's Office provides fingerprinting services. I was informed that the services are provided but I must make an appointment online. I made an appointment online to get fingerprinted on January 17th. I made this appointment 2 weeks in advance. I received email reminders of the appointment. When I arrived on the day of the appointment, I was told that there would be no fingerprinting because everyone was off for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Why was I not contacted about this appointment time being unavailable? This appointment was an inconvenience for me and I am unavailable to make another appointment until next month in which I will have to request time off of work unless a special appointment can be scheduled in the evening or on a weekend.

I had an appointment at 2:00 pm for fingerprinting for a new employment background check. I arrived at 1:50 and checked in with the security desk as I was instructed. No one came to take my fingerprints until 2:35, forcing me to push back other items on my agenda for the day. While the workers were very nice to me and the process took only ten minutes, it was very inconvenient that the appointment time was not honored by the department workers.
In the future, if no one is going to be available for an appointment time, don't offer it.

Went across the hall for finger prints, ans was more than hour early. Was able to get right in.

I went in to get fingerprinted for my volunteer work. Staff was polite, professional, thorough and quick. The only feedback I have is that there was no one in the waiting room that worked there and I didn't know what to do until a loud speaker came on, that I couldn't understand, and someone else told me to pick up the phone. Being I had never been there before, it was a little intimidating and confusing as to what to do upon arrival. Thanks for all you do.

Strange experience
I arrived to find a large group of people exiting the facility, and several officers. I went to the wrong side to check in. Found the correct phone. Called to say I was there. I had a 10:00 appointment, but still had to wait. Why require a mask for me, but not for staff? Just asking the questions. I am a private citizen getting finger printed to volunteer. Very uncomfortable.
